Terms & Conditions
Effective date: June 8, 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Granny's Cobbler, available at grannyscobbler.com (the "Service"), operated by Granny's Cobbler ("we," "us," "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. What the Service does
Granny's Cobbler lets you submit recipes in a variety of formats — photos, scans, PDFs, documents, and other files of handwritten or printed recipes, and over time additional sources such as links to recipes on the web. Automated tools (including third-party AI models) read what you submit and turn it into structured, searchable recipes organized into "cookbooks," which you can keep private, share with people you invite, or make public.
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. We use passwordless ("magic link") sign-in tied to your email address. You are responsible for maintaining access to and the security of your email account, and for activity that occurs under your account.
3. Your content and your responsibilities
You retain ownership of the recipes, images, and other materials you submit ("Your Content"). You represent that you have the rights to submit Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights, and is not unlawful.
You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service (including transmitting it to the third-party processors described in our Privacy Policy). If you make a cookbook public, you also grant other users the ability to view the recipes in it.
You must not use the Service to submit or share content that is illegal, infringing, harmful, or that you don't have the right to share.
4. AI processing — accuracy disclaimer
Recipes are extracted and refined by automated and AI-based tools, which can make mistakes (misread quantities, ingredients, instructions, or omit details). Output is provided for convenience and is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or safe to rely on. You are responsible for reviewing recipes before using them. The Service does not provide dietary, nutritional, allergen, medical, or food-safety advice; verify ingredients and preparation independently, especially where allergies or health conditions are involved.
5. Pricing and payments
The Service is pay-as-you-go. New accounts receive a limited number of free recipe credits. After that, you add funds to a prepaid wallet (minimum top-up $2) and are charged for paid actions. There is no subscription. Current charges:
- Processing a recipe into a personal cookbook: currently $0.50 per recipe. Recipes added only to free/open pools are not charged, and copying an existing recipe into another of your cookbooks is free.
- AI-assisted edits or suggestions on a recipe: currently $0.05–$0.10 per use.
- Exporting a whole cookbook as a PDF: currently $2 per export.
- Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card details.
- If processing a recipe fails, or a cookbook PDF export fails, the corresponding charge is automatically refunded to your wallet balance.
- Wallet balances are prepaid credits for use within the Service. Except as required by law, wallet balances are non-refundable, may not be redeemed for cash, and are forfeited if you delete your account (see Section 7).
- We may change prices or the free-credit allotment prospectively; changes won't retroactively affect funds already spent.
6. Public and shared cookbooks
Cookbooks are private by default. You may invite others as members (who may view, and depending on role, edit) or make a cookbook public (viewable by anyone with the link, and potentially indexed by search engines). You're responsible for what you choose to share or make public. We also operate example/community cookbooks; content placed there may be visible to all users.
7. Termination and account deletion
You may delete your account at any time. Deleting your account permanently removes your cookbooks, the recipes in them, your uploaded files, and your sessions, and forfeits any remaining wallet balance, which is not refunded. Recipes you contributed to public/community pools that don't belong to your personal account may remain. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will be preserved or accurate.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of Your Content or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll take reasonable steps to notify you (e.g., by email or in-product notice). Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Granny's Cobbler ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Granny's Cobbler at grannyscobbler.com (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your name and email address (used for passwordless "magic link" sign-in).
- Content you submit: the photos, scans, PDFs, documents, and files you submit, and the recipe data (titles, ingredients, steps, notes, etc.) extracted from them.
- Payment information: when you add funds, payments are handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We receive limited billing details and a customer identifier; we do not store your full card number.
- Usage and technical data: basic log/technical information generated when you use the Service, and cookies needed to keep you signed in and to operate features (e.g., a session cookie and, for password-gated areas, an unlock cookie).
2. How we use information
We use your information to provide, operate, and improve the Service; process your uploads into structured recipes (which involves sending content to the third-party processors below); process payments and maintain your wallet balance and transaction history; send you sign-in links and important account or service messages; and maintain security and prevent abuse.
3. Third parties we share with (sub-processors)
We share information with service providers only as needed to run the Service:
- Hosting & storage: Cloudflare (application hosting, database, file/object storage).
- Payments: Stripe (payment processing).
- AI processing: your submitted recipe content is sent to third-party AI providers (such as Anthropic and OpenAI) to extract and refine recipe data.
- Email delivery: our email provider, to send magic-link sign-in messages.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Content you choose to share
Cookbooks are private by default. If you invite members, your cookbook's recipes are visible to those members. If you make a cookbook public, its recipes are viewable by anyone with the link and may be indexed by search engines. Please don't submit anything you wouldn't want shared according to the visibility you select.
5. Cookies
We use strictly-necessary cookies to keep you signed in, support multiple-account switching, and gate password-protected areas. We do not use them for third-party advertising.
6. Data retention and deletion
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings; doing so permanently removes your cookbooks, the recipes in them, your uploaded files, and your sessions. We may retain limited records as needed for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes (for example, transaction records, and a minimal record of prior sign-ups to administer free-credit eligibility). Recipes contributed to public/community pools that aren't tied to your personal account may remain after deletion.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., under GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise many of these directly in the app (editing your profile, deleting your account) or by contacting us through the "Help" section of the website. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
10. International users
We operate the Service from the United States and may process information in other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service you understand your information may be transferred and processed in those locations.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. If we make material changes, we'll take reasonable steps to notify you. The "Effective date" above shows when it was last updated.
