Bechamel Sauce
Ingredients
- butter (equal parts with flour)
- flour (equal parts with butter)
- milk
- nutmeg (whole, freshly grated)
- salt and white pepper
Method
- Combine equal parts butter and flour in saucepan over medium heat. Cook 2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
- Season with salt, pepper, and freshly grated nutmeg. Cook stirring until thickened.
Tips & Notes
- Best to use whole nutmeg and add in with a grater.
