Bechamel Sauce
Ingredients
- Butter
- Flour
- Milk
- Nutmeg (whole, freshly grated)
- Salt and white pepper
Method
- Combine equal parts butter and flour in a saucepan over medium heat and cook for 2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
- Season with salt, white pepper, and freshly grated nutmeg.
- Cook, stirring, until thickened.
Tips & Notes
- Best to use whole nutmeg and grate it in fresh.
