Beef Burgundy

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbs. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbs. flour
  • 4 carrots
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 1 cup celery, thinly sliced
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp pepper, marjoram, and thyme (1/4 tsp each)
  • 1 cup Burgundy wine
  • 2 1/2 lbs.s lean stew meat

Method

  1. Blend soy sauce & flour in baking pan (dutch oven).
  2. Cut meat into cubes 1 1/2" and put in mixture of soy sauce and flour to coat meat.
  3. Add chunks of carrots and other ingredients to meat.
  4. Stir gently. Cover and cook at 325° for 1 hr.
  5. Add mushrooms and stir again. Cover & bake almost 2 more hours.
  6. Serve with noodles or rice.

Tips & Notes

  • This French recipe for Beef Burgundy always comes out the same, and it's better the second day.
