Beef Burgundy
Ingredients
- 2 Tbs. soy sauce
- 2 Tbs. flour
- 4 carrots
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
- 1 cup celery, thinly sliced
- 2 large onions
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp pepper, marjoram, and thyme (1/4 tsp each)
- 1 cup Burgundy wine
- 2 1/2 lbs.s lean stew meat
Method
- Blend soy sauce & flour in baking pan (dutch oven).
- Cut meat into cubes 1 1/2" and put in mixture of soy sauce and flour to coat meat.
- Add chunks of carrots and other ingredients to meat.
- Stir gently. Cover and cook at 325° for 1 hr.
- Add mushrooms and stir again. Cover & bake almost 2 more hours.
- Serve with noodles or rice.
Tips & Notes
- This French recipe for Beef Burgundy always comes out the same, and it's better the second day.
