Cheese Fondue
Ingredients
- 1 lb. natural Swiss cheese, grated (imported Gruyere is best)
- Dash of salt
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 cups dry white wine (Sauterne)
- Dash of pepper
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons Kirsch (liquor)
- 1 loaf French bread
Method
- Use corning ware or a non-metal pan. Rub the sides and bottom of the pan with garlic. Add the cheese, salt, pepper, wine, and cornstarch.
- Heat over a medium flame, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth. Add the Kirsch.
- Serve with bread chunks for dipping.
