Chicken A La Orange

Ingredients

  • 2 broiler-fryers, cut up
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1 (6-ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 1 juice can water
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 medium onion

Method

  1. Put flour and dry seasonings in a bag and coat the chicken.
  2. Place chicken in a Pyrex casserole.
  3. Pour juice concentrate, water, and brown sugar over the chicken.
  4. Bake at 350°, basting occasionally, until done.
