Cookies — Ethel's Chocolate Frosted

Ingredients

For the cookies

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 2 squares chocolate, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

For the frosting

  • 3 tablespoons cream
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°.
  2. Cream the brown sugar and melted butter. Add the egg and beat. Add the melted chocolate.
  3. Sift the flour with the soda. Add the milk, stirring in the flour and milk alternately. Add the vanilla.
  4. Drop by spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 10–12 minutes.
  5. For the frosting, combine the cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Frost the cookies when cool.
