Fred Weil's Famous Brownies

Background
They look underbaked because they're gooey, but that's how they're supposed to be. From Fred Weil. These are Annie's favorites.
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound butter
- 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2/3 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°. Grease and flour a 9x12-inch pan.
- Melt the butter and chocolate in the top of a double boiler.
- When melted, set aside and cool to room temperature.
- Meanwhile, beat the eggs and sugar until thick and lemon-colored; add the vanilla.
- Fold the chocolate mixture into the eggs and sugar and mix thoroughly.
- Sift the flour and fold gently into the batter, mixing until blended.
- Fold in the walnuts.
- Pour into the pan.
- Bake 25 minutes or until the center is set.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan 30 minutes before cutting (they are gooey at first but change texture when cool).
