Grandma Carmel’s Scalloped Potatoes

Grandma Carmel's. She wrote 'spuds' on the card. We had it most Sundays.

Ingredients

  • 6 spuds
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 1/2 cups milk

Method

  1. Layer the spuds with the chopped onion and 1 tablespoon of the flour, plus salt, pepper, and butter; add another layer of spuds.
  2. Add the remaining flour to the top. Scald the milk and pour it over the pan.
  3. Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and continue baking at 350° for 1 hour.
