Grandma Ethel's Awesome Chocolate Cookies
Background
Grandma Ethel made these all the time. We called them the awesome cookies, not sure she ever called them anything.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup soft butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 squares unsweetened chocolate
- Vanilla
- Frosting: 3 tablespoons cream or butter
- Frosting: 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- Frosting: vanilla
Method
- Cream the sugar and butter.
- Add the eggs. Add the melted chocolate.
- Mix the flour and baking soda and add to the mixture alternately with the milk.
- Add the vanilla.
- Bake at 350° for 10–12 minutes.
- For the frosting, combine the cream or butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla; beat until smooth and spread on the cooled cookies.
