Mom's Banana Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda (listed as 'soda')
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cups butter
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup mashed banana
  • 3/4 cups sour milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Method

  1. Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt together.
  2. Cream butter and sugar.
  3. Beat in egg.
  4. Add mashed banana.
  5. Add alternately dry ingredients and sour milk.
  6. Add vanilla. Bake in 9" layer pans at 375° for 25-30 min. Best with butter cream frosting.
