Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked 8-inch pie shell
  • 1 1/4 cups pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Method

  1. Spread the pecans in the bottom of the pie shell.
  2. Beat the eggs; add the sugar, corn syrup, salt, and butter.
  3. Pour the filling over the pecans.
  4. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes, then reduce the oven to 325° and bake 30 minutes more.
  5. Remove from the oven; cool, cut, eat, be happy.
